Statement

My work explores connections to personal objects and the sentimentality held for them in relation to memories, girlhood, and femininity. The use of objects such as flowers, found objects and childhood possessions, evokes emotion and can be used as a means of self – exploration. This exploration currently uses moving image to translate thoughts, feelings and ideas while allowing me to have freedom to deal with personal themes. Experimental sound is an important aspect of my work. Sound is a way of creating atmospheres allowing diverse suggestions for interpretations. Through moving image and sound, my works create affective evocations and traces heightening feelings of memory.
