Statement

My work explores the stories of women who have been scorned, judged, and at times wrongfully tarnished by media and the general public. It is a constellation of a historical and contemporary narrative, unlocking the stories of these women who face a struggle that has persistently trickled through the timeline of humanity - from mythology to the dawn of Hollywood, to our present day in which these issues still largely exist. From ‘misogynoir’ to sexism, my work investigates the identity of these women that has been created outside of their own control. I use photography, watercolour paint, pencil drawings and collage work to create my pieces.
