My practice seeks to explore identity formation, more specifically but not exclusively in the area of gender performance. I question the various ways in which identity is formed, nature vs nurture, and the different ways of expressing or performing gender.

I have recently been exploring this theme by incorporating more representational figures into my practice, whilst still remaining relatively abstract to reflect this topic. I am attempting to explore this through the video medium and drawing.

I am interested in childhood development and how children, subconsciously, encouraged by societal norms, perform gender through play.
