I am interested in objects and the cultural beliefs and mores that they signify. I use juxtapositions of conflictual and oppositional elements to explore and stretch connotations. I work across sculpture, installation and performance. My practice begins in concept, which influences the form and media of my work. I am exploring the Irish diaspora through the objects that migrants bring with them when they emigrate. This body of work is grounded in my own family’s history.
