Statement

I have spent my life traveling. Always on the move living in a constant flux. Beginning in a small Ohio town in the United States, I journeyed to Pennsylvania to pursue an education where I spent my time sprinting through life. Always in a rush. Never resting, never reflecting. Ireland was the last major migration of my life. It was here that I've found belonging. A place to rest and meditate in a society that reflects that. My research explores the Overview Effect, a phenomena or cognitive shift experienced by some astronauts upon viewing earth from space, creating overwhelming feelings of awe, human connection and a shift in perspective about life and the planet. My personal migration inspires my video work to inspire viewers to rest, meditate, and consider what their role is in the world, positing that we only have one life, one planet. Asking the viewer: How will you live it? How will you traverse it?
