Statement

For my Master’s project, I explored how streamed gameplay can be used as a User
Experience (UX) research method to uncover usability issues in games. Instead of
relying on traditional lab-based testing, I investigated whether naturally occurring
streams on platforms like Twitch and YouTube can reveal meaningful insights into
how players interact with game interfaces and mechanics. Combining my own
analysis with interviews with UX researchers, I evaluated both the opportunities and
the limitations of this approach. The project highlights how existing streamed
content offers a more affordable and sustainable alternative for UX research,
especially when resources are limited.
