Statement

My work explores themes of beauty, ageing, and femininity, particularly my curiosity about why women are often devalued as they age. I examine the complexities surrounding female ageing through the lenses of feminism, religion, history, and folklore.

I draw inspiration from memento mori and vanitas paintings, specifically the use of flowers as symbols for the impermanence of beauty and life.

To explore these themes, I use eco-printing and natural dyeing techniques on textiles. The vibrancy of natural plant dyes may fade over time, much like beauty and youth. In addition, embroidery and beadwork are added to convey value and worth,
