Hi, my name is Rory. I’m an illustrator and designer with an interest in storytelling. My Final Year Project is “Underpainting”, an illustrated graphic novel which is focused on themes of body image and perfectionism. The narrative explores how beauty standards and seeking external validation can get in the way of living authentically. The project is intended to highlight how an obsession with correcting perceived imperfections in oneself can be damaging, as opposed to self-acceptance and taking a neutral view of one’s own appearance.
