Statement

My collection of zines captures a view of modern daily life, showing the charm of what often goes unnoticed. My project is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which embraces imperfection and recognises that everything is in a constant state of change and movement. Although rooted in tradition, I wanted to explore wabi-sabi through a modern perspective. To show this, I collaged photography and type to show the beauty in the ordinary, inspiring a moment of reflection. My project invites you to slow down, look closer and be surprised by what has always been there.
