Statement

My name is Tala Dabbagh, and I’ve always seen the world through the lens of story. Stories have a unique power: they connect, reveal, and heal. That’s what drives me. I’m a storyteller at heart. I’ve always believed that we are made of stories. Those we live, those we tell, and those still waiting inside us untold, combine to make us who we are.

This passion has led me to explore storytelling through every medium I could grasp. It was in film, audio, game development and interactive media that I found my creative home. There's something powerful about allowing someone to live a story rather than simply witness it. Camera in hand, headphones on, controller under my fingers, the world of possibilities becomes endless.

For my final year project, I created a narrative-driven game cantered on identity and mental health. It was personal, raw and honest, a journey through shifting spaces that mirrored the internal landscapes we all navigate. I wanted players to feel seen, to find pieces of themselves in a space designed for empathy, not escape.

Every story I create is a reflection of who I am and what I believe: that storytelling is more than entertainment, it’s a way to be understood. I intend to keep telling stories that matter. I hope to create work that feels real, speaks to the heart, and offers comfort in the places we often hide. To me, creative expression should not just entertain, but reach into the quiet places within us and offer something meaningful in return.
