Yaffa Husseini
Statement
I’m Yaffa Husseini. I found my talent for animation after studying History at the University of Ottawa, but I’m as artistic as I am scholarly. I’m a visual artist, a musician, and a writer. But my real passion is for storytelling. I aspire to make art that supports the development of a better world.
That is why I wrote this film.
Orphaned and displaced from their home in Gaza City, two brothers must find their way to a “safe zone” to survive. Forced to grow up much too fast, the boys confront pain and loss on their tragic path along the shoreline. “Sing to the Wind” is a short, animated film that tells the story of perseverance through the eyes of a child, and the resilience of a people in the face of ceaseless brutality.
