Statement

I create flowing, intuitive artworks for the home and the body. Their inspiration comes from a range of sources in the natural world; from root systems to microorganisms. I examine the origins of organic life and create works that take on an energy of their own. In both clay and metal, this work possesses an amorphous, ethereal quality. My jewellery, crafted from silver and copper, uses a variety of traditional metalsmithing techniques. Sinuous shapes wrap around and grow from the body; amoeba-like forms rest enclosed in delicate rings and pendants. In clay these structures are transformed from miniature to large scale, becoming sculptures which bring a sense of life to the space they inhabit.
