Statement

Living in a new urban environment has inspired my work; I continually find interesting new visuals around me. I photograph details of the city seen in my daily commute, such as chipping paint on older buildings, and the patterns found in road markings, which I then abstract as a visual language. I mainly work in textiles and printmaking, making use of colour, line and composition found in my photo research. My work is a geometric study of colour patterning and graphic imagery. I take linear and textural elements from my photography and bring them into the surface and image of the works.
