Statement
My work aims to explore and investigate the wild Irish coastline. With the changing weather patterns due to climate change, the coast has been subjected to storms of increasing severity and frequency. More recently my work has been focused on the debris left on the beach after a storm between the ebb and flow of tides. Observing what is left behind in rockpools and on the shore have been a good source of material and inspiration for my artwork. The aesthetics of sea and sunlight, its organic forms and colours are themes that reference my work. Practice led experimentation and research have resulted in combining diffused light with found objects both organic and manufactured.
