Statement

I work with both glass and textiles. My current research centers around Alzheimer’s. I began to focus more on the internal effects of the disease and how the neurons break down as memory declines.
My focus on the internal and microscopic led me to explore laboratory formats.
The felted mulberry paper used in my work, also known as Joomchi, has a fibrous quality that can be easily broken down, representing the fragility of the neurons.
The bubbles left within the glass during the firing process create depth and give life to the piece.
