Statement
I'm interested in visual storytelling that explores emotion, memory and personal experiences. My project uses visuals to communicate ideas that aren't always easy to express through words, using a combination of illustration and animation to enhance these moments.
My final year project, 'Before The Tape Ends' is a motion comic that blends illustration with subtle animation. It explores nostalgia and the feeling of longing for the past, specifically through childhood memories. I used colour, composition, and motion to show how memory can shape the way we see both the past and the present.
Through this project, I developed a stronger understanding of how illustration and animation can work together. I focused on using motion in a controlled and intentional way, so it supports the story without taking away from the pacing of the comic.
I'm interested in continuing to explore hybrid forms of storytelling and creating work that feels personal, relatable, and emotionally engaging.
