Statement
My practice explores the tension between attraction and repulsion in representations of the female body.
Working with latex, paint, and textiles, I create visceral surfaces that evoke skin, bodily fluids, and soft, supple forms. Influenced by feminist approaches to the grotesque and abject, my work aims to interrogate how the female body is regulated, controlled, and constricted—both culturally and physically. Materiality becomes a means of reflecting the pressure and instability of inhabiting a female body.
I create forms that hover between solid and fluid, seductive and unsettling. These bodily, intimate structures intend to invite an uneasy kind of looking—one that challenges comfort, containment, and control.
