Statement

I like to capture life for what it is, not for what it could be. My sketchbook is the core of my practice. As an indecisive perfectionist I feel pen is the perfect medium to use. Drawing is a form of grounding for me. capturing the essence of chaos that is life. I want to bring attention to those forgotten and mundane moments that make up living. I work with glass and textiles to use both of their unique properties to bring my drawings to life and make them more tactile and interactive. I use glass for its transparency to try to convey how these moments can blend into each other and interact with each other in memory. I use weaving as a canvas for sublimation prints of my sketches. I have woven each piece by hand and heat pressed my drawings onto them using sublimation printing, which dyes the image onto my weave. For me, making has never just been about the product, it is about every stage of making, learning and developing as an artist.
