My work explores the relationship between the home and the idea of belonging. The home to me is a place of belonging, memories, and warmth, and during Covid it also became a place of isolation. It was during this time I began to reflect on my family’s past. It was this interest in my family’s history, the traces of the people who were once there and the memories of those people that have inspired my work. With an influence from my mother’s love for wallpaper, I have created textile pieces that to me represent this feeling of curiosity.
